Privacy Policy
This page explains what personal data is collected when you use hawkbs.co.uk, why, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Hawk Business Services Ltd (HawkBS) is the data controller for this website. Registered in England & Wales, company no. 15744867. Contact: john@hawkbs.co.uk.
What we collect
The site is deliberately minimal. The only data collected is:
- Booking and contact information — if you book a call or send an email, we receive your name, email address, company, role, and anything else you choose to include.
- Newsletter sign-ups — if you subscribe to the newsletter, we receive your email address.
- Site analytics — Google Analytics (gtag.js, measurement ID G-BCR6TNGL79) collects usage data such as pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser information. It sets cookies to do this. Google may process this data on our behalf to help us understand how the site is used.
Why we hold it
- Booking and contact information is held under legitimate interest for business-to-business communication — to respond to your enquiry and deliver any service we have agreed.
- Newsletter sign-ups are held under consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email.
- Analytics are held under your consent to understand which pages are useful; because Google Analytics sets cookies, this relies on the consent you give when you accept analytics cookies.
Who else handles it
The following processors are used:
- Cloudflare — hosts the site. Privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Google Analytics — measures site usage. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Cal.eu — handles call bookings (when enabled). Privacy policy: cal.eu/privacy.
- Google Workspace — handles email when you reply to a booking or write directly. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Newsletter provider — once the newsletter is active, the provider and link to its policy will be listed here.
How long we keep it
- Active client communications: for the duration of the engagement plus six years (UK statutory record-keeping for company accounts).
- Booking enquiries that did not become engagements: 24 months, then deleted.
- Newsletter sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
- Google Analytics data: retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics, after which user-level data is deleted; aggregate reports may be kept longer.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate personal data corrected.
- Have your personal data deleted, where there is no overriding legitimate interest.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent, where consent is the lawful basis.
To exercise any of these rights, email john@hawkbs.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your data is being handled unlawfully.
Cookies
This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_BCR6TNGL79) to distinguish visitors and measure how the site is used. If you book a call via Cal.eu, Cal.eu may set cookies on its own pages — those are governed by Cal.eu's privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially the "last updated" date at the top will change and, where appropriate, subscribers will be notified by email.
